What games do the kids play?
We offer AFL footy (modified), Indoor Cricket, Indoor Soccer, Indoor Netball, Indoor Volleyball, Dodgeball, Poison Ball and some modified party games. If you have an idea for a sport let us know and we will do our best to accomodate you.
Do the kids get to play all the different games?
Different sports require different set up in terms of equipment on the court. We offer a choice of 2 sports from the above list but we can combine a number of sports depending on the necessary set up. Parents will need to inform GIS of their sport choices prior to the party. Extra sports played will be at the discretion of the Party Coordinator and GIS management.
Who are our parties suitable for?
Our parties are suitable for boys and girls aged from 5 years and above. You can tailor your party to suit the age group (our party co-ordinators are very experienced and can provide advice and guidance depending on age group).
Our parties are held in our huge Indoor sports centre and parties have the exclusive use of their own court.
How long do our Parties go for?
Our parties run for 2 fun filled hours.
How is the party structured?
When your guests arrive we have a variety of party snacks and nibbles set up for you. This is also a good time for everyone to grab a drink before the games begin. A little after the half way mark of the party, your party coordinator will serve the hot party food. The present opening can also be done at this time. Once everyone has been fed, it is time to hit the courts again for some more games. With plenty of time left til the end of your party, the party coordinator will serve the cake and help sing Happy Birthday..
Is a cake included in the party?
We do not provide a cake you will have to bring your own. We can store ice cream cakes in our freezer. Parents wanting to drop cakes off prior to the party need to coordinate and arrange a suitable time and will need to contact Geelong Indoor Sports prior to the party.
How much does a party cost?
Our basic catered party package is $18 per party attendee with a minimum of 10 children. We can tailor a party package to suit everyone. (Please contact us for special requirements and to discuss the costs). A $50 deposit is required to confirm your booking.
Do we cater for the big kids as well?
We offer a cafe quality coffee machine that can prepare anything from a Latte to a Mochachino or Hot Chocolate for all the parents who would like to stay around for the party and should your party be booked in the afternoon sessions, guests are more than welcome to enjoy a drink from the fully licenced bar.
Can I bring additional food?
You are more than welcome to bring additional party food or nibbles for you and your guests. Please do bear in mind that we have a fully licenced bar and alcoholic and soft drinks are available so no drinks may be bought into the centre.
When are the parties held?
The parties can be booked on Friday Nights, Saturdays or Sundays all year round. We also have midweek afternoon parties during school holidays. All party times are subject to availability. .
How many people can I invite to my party?
Our catered parties have a minimum number of 10 children. The maximum amount of guests for a catered party is 30. For parties with 18-30 guests, a 2nd party co-ordinator will be require at and extra cost of $50. Uncatered parties can have up to 40 guests.
Do I need to confirm numbers?
Confirmation of exact numbers is required. You can call or email the centre the week before the party to confirm. Because food is ordered and served on a per head basis and changes to your party booking will need to be communicated prior to the party or your party coordinator as soon as you arrive on the day. (Minimum numbers for parties is 10 and you will be charged the minimum if you have less than 10 guests).
Will I have to pay for siblings of party child or invited guests?
We understand that siblings want to share in the party fun and younger and older siblings are more than welcome to attend the party. Any sibling who will be eating at the party will be charged an additional $5 per head. In the case of older siblings who want to share in the special day, our party coordinators can often involve them as umpires or get them to lend a hand while the younger children participate in their activities. Party coordinators are only responsible for the invited party guests - we are happy to accomodate younger siblings but they should be supervised at all times by parents or an adult party guest.
How do I book a party?
Bookings can be made either in person at our sports centre, by phone or via the website (confirmation will be subject to availability). A $50 deposit is required at the time of the booking to confirm your place. This can be paid by cash, cheque, EFTPOS or by a credit card over the phone.
